Electrical Commissioning Manager – Hyperscale Data Centres

πŸ“ Location: UK | Full-time, site-based
πŸ’· Salary: Β£95,000–£110,000 DOE

⚑ £110k earning potential. Major hyperscale data centre developments. Owner-side influence on the infrastructure powering global cloud technology.

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Manager who knows the difference between a system that's been installed and one that's genuinely ready to energize.

If you've delivered complex electrical systems on mission-critical projects and want to step away from direct contractor delivery into a high-impact oversight role, this could be your next move.

About the Role

You'll oversee electrical installation completion, testing and Levels 1–3 commissioning on major UK hyperscale data centre developments.

Working alongside Tier 1 contractors, specialist electrical teams and equipment manufacturers, you'll ensure critical electrical infrastructure is installed correctly, tested safely and ready for energisation.

Your focus is technical assurance, contractor performance, commissioning sequencing and readiness for subsequent Level 4 and Level 5 testing.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not simply a programme reporting position.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee electrical installation completion, inspections, testing and Levels 1–3 commissioning.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors across switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators and power distribution infrastructure.
  • Challenge commissioning programmes, test procedures and system readiness.
  • Review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), technical submissions, commissioning test packs and SAT documentation.
  • Oversee energisation readiness, electrical safety and LOTO procedures in coordination with authorised personnel.
  • Identify technical defects, resolve commissioning constraints and protect critical milestones.
  • Coordinate handover readiness ahead of Level 4/5 functional and integrated testing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
