π΄ COMMISSIONING MANAGER (CXM) β SCOTLAND
GC Side | Full Project Lifecycle | Start to Completion
A major data centre project in Scotland is looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager (CXM) to join from the very beginning and take the project through to completion.
This is a genuine start-to-finish commissioning opportunity, with the successful candidate helping establish the commissioning strategy and team early before leading delivery through testing, IST and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the overall commissioning programme, milestones, sequencing and priorities
- Lead the commissioning process across MEP systems from construction through to handover
- Establish the commissioning team, roles and responsibilities early in the project
- Coordinate with the GC, client, MEP contractors, vendors and commissioning agents
- Ensure systems are genuinely ready before testing and commissioning begins
- Identify potential commissioning issues before they impact the programme
- Drive contractors and subcontractors to deliver commissioning requirements
- Review commissioning plans, test scripts, ITPs, check sheets, NCRs and handover documentation
- Monitor construction progress and understand its impact on the commissioning programme
- Recognise the commercial and programme impact of delays, defects and commissioning issues
- Lead testing, witnessing, integrated systems testing and final handover
- Maintain clear and confident communication across construction and commissioning teams
- Take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues

- Strong commissioning background within data centres / mission critical
- Previous CXM / Commissioning Management experience
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and commissioning requirements
- Proven ability to lead and influence contractors and subcontractors
- Strong planning, programme and documentation skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication
- Commercial awareness and understanding of programme impact
- Someone proactive who can take ownership from project start through to completion
