We have an exciting opportunity available for a Commissioning Officer - Children's Service and Education Contracts to join us!
This is a part-time, permanent role with a salary range of £39,526 - £43,613 per annum (£23,715 - £26,167 per annum pro rata based on 0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours).

This an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Commissioning Officer - Children's Service and Education Contracts to join our Adult Services Commissioning Team.
The Role
Working within our Commissioning Team you will support the Executive Director of Children’s Services and Education in the effective commissioning, contract management, and performance monitoring of Children’s Services and Education contracts, as delivered through the Achieving for Children (AfC) and other providers.

Your Role Will Involve
- Manage and monitor the contract between RBWM and Achieving for Children (AfC) and other key service agreements, ensuring performance, quality, compliance, and delivery of agreed outcomes.
- Support commissioning and service development activities, including needs assessment, service planning, market shaping activities and continuous improvement to meet the needs of children, young people, and families.
- Analyse performance, financial, and demand data to assess value for money, identify trends and risks, inform decision-making, and support evidence-based commissioning.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with AfC, council services, providers, partner agencies, and external stakeholders to strengthen accountability, improve services, and deliver collaborative solutions.
- Provide governance, quality assurance, and reporting support, preparing reports and briefings for senior leaders and elected members, ensuring services meet statutory, safeguarding, and contractual requirements.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience of commissioning and/or contract management of social care contracts in children’s or adult services.
- Experience of project management methods in a local government and/or social care environment.
- Experience of process design, implementation and the management of change.
- Excellent communicator, able to form close partnerships with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
- Good data analytical skills including the ability to collect, analyse, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
