How you'll make a difference
As a Commissioning Officer, you will join the Partnerships and Commissioning Service as part of the Relationship team. Working collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and providers, you will manage contracts, build effective provider relationships, and support the commissioning, monitoring, and continuous improvement of services.
Through performance management, stakeholder engagement, research, and project work, you will help ensure high-quality, value-for-money health, care, and support services are delivered for residents across South Gloucestershire.
What you will be doing
It will be key for you to research and analyse information, including legislative and regulatory requirements, to support informed decision-making and provide high-quality technical advice to customers, ensuring procedures and best practice are consistently applied.
Through coordinating day-to-day activities, you will contribute to the effective delivery of projects and work programmes, helping to develop and improve services, processes, and ways of working.
You will ensure customers receive accurate, relevant, and timely information, maintaining high standards of customer service and communication.
Using your expertise, you will support project monitoring, performance reporting, and continuous improvement activities, helping to achieve service objectives and maintain quality standards.
It will be your responsibility to develop and maintain accurate records, ensuring information is effectively managed, analysed, and used to support service delivery and improvement.

Providing an effective administrative service, you will ensure documents are prepared and issued promptly, and that returns are reviewed and analysed where appropriate.
What we need from you
It is essential that you have relevant experience of working within an organisation responsible for commissioning social care or similar services.
Given the nature of this work, you will be a collaborative professional with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders to support innovation and continuous improvement.
When assessing challenges, you will demonstrate clear, logical, and analytical problem-solving skills.
We are looking for someone who is well-organised, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
What you need to know
This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Yate and working from home.
Interviews are likely to take place week commencing 28th September 2026.
