Commissioning Start-Up Officer (Filling Line) AkzoNobel – Felling Temporary Secondment – 9 months
The Role
We’re looking for a CSU (Commissioning, Start-Up) Officer to support delivery of our Industrial Excellence program. In this role, you will:
- Take ownership of commissioning and start-up activities for new capex equipment
- Ensure equipment is fully operational, safe, and production-ready
- Act as a key link between project delivery teams and operational teams
- Oversee installation, testing, and optimisation for performance, reliability, and efficiency
- Suitability ideal for someone seeking experience in production environments and project management
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full CSU lifecycle, including:
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Final project handover
- Plan and coordinate commissioning activities aligned with project and production timelines

Collaborative Role
- Work closely with:
- Production, engineering, maintenance, planning, and quality teams
- Oversee line testing, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
Operational Excellence
- Ensure efficient line design and process flow with minimal downtime
- Develop and deliver:
- SOPs
- Training materials
- Operator readiness programs
- Support training and competency sign-off for operators
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to establish procedures and spare parts requirements
- Maintain accurate commissioning documentation and performance records
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance:
- Line efficiency
- Performance
- Reliability

About You
- Proven organisational, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of production KPIs and operational workflows
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence multiple teams
- Preferable but not essential:
- Experience in manufacturing environments
- Commissioning, start-up, or validation of production or filling lines
