Rate: £475/day Umbrella

Summary

This role involves providing strategic leadership for Adult Social Care commissioning services within a local authority. The position is crucial for ensuring the effective execution of major commissioning, procurement, and service transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will manage a large team, oversee significant contracts and frameworks, support market sustainability, and contribute to the strategic planning of commissioning services across the Council.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of intricate commissioning programs in Adult Social Care.
  • Offer strategic oversight for high-value procurement and recommissioning projects.
  • Promote continuous improvement, service innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Aid in the development of sustainable care markets and enhance outcomes for residents.
  • Participate in strategic service planning and organizational development.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and comply with statutory requirements.
  • Monitor risks, dependencies, and program performance.
  • Develop and uphold program plans and governance structures.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in leading Adult Social Care commissioning services.
  • Proven success in delivering complex commissioning and procurement programs.
  • Experience in managing high-value contracts, frameworks, and service transformation projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing commissioning teams and staff development.
  • Experience in local government, Adult Social Care, or public sector environments.
  • Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders, providers, and partner organizations.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in commissioning, procurement, social care, public sector management, or a related field.

  • 6 months contract with a local authority
  • Rate: £475/day Umbrella
  • Working hours: 37 hours per week
  • Standard DBS required
  • Hybrid working
