Mechanical Commissioning Supervisor

Progesys is looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Supervisor to work on a mining project in Europe. The Mechanical Commissioning Supervisor will have to ensure in a timely manner the commissioning of installations in respect to the environment and health and safety of the personnel in his discipline.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assists contractors and site operations in commissioning and start up activities
  • Conduct walkdowns as required representing the mechanical commissioning discipline
  • Execute mechanical commissioning packages
  • Assist with mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities (rotating equipment cold/hot alignments)
  • Verification and testing of mechanical installation (Mining equipment; conveyor, rotating equipment, handling equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment…)
  • Validation of all process, piping and services installation and integrity validation
  • Verification of automatic sequences (mechanical monitoring)
  • Validation of equipment identification and their integrity to the P&ID
  • Visual inspection of mechanical erection
  • Supervision of workers (millwright) assigned to the commissioning as well as supplier representatives

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Technical diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in commissioning activities, ideally within the following industries: Mining and metallurgy, Aluminum, oil and gas or hydro power
  • Plant maintenance and/or Millwright experience will be considered
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment, rotary and piping
  • Excellent oral communication skills in English
