Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Commissions and Targets Manager to join our Commercial Finance team. You will build your business knowledge and create strong relationships across divisions; you will have responsibility for managing and continuously improving the Sales target setting process and commissions schemes across the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end Sales target setting process, partnering with Commercial Finance, Sales leadership, and senior stakeholders to set ambitious, fair, and commercially robust targets.
- Own the Sales commission cycle, ensuring schemes, calculations, approvals, and payments are accurate, timely, well-controlled, and clearly communicated.
- Ensure the Commissions system is kept up to date and approvals are correctly managed each month.
- Own and develop the process and policy documentation for target setting and commissions and perform regular reviews to ensure appropriate controls remain in place as business needs evolve.
- Act as a trusted business partner to Sales, using data, insight, and challenge to support growth, accountability, and the right sales behaviours.
- Turn commission and performance data into actionable insight, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for better commercial decision-making.
- Drive process improvement and automation across targets, commissions, and reporting, helping build scalable, tech-enabled solutions as the business grows.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cost recognition, governance, and documentation for commissions.
- Lead regular reviews of commission schemes to ensure they continue to drive desired behaviours and business outcomes and amending them as required.
- Lead the development of one direct report, embedding a high-quality service mindset and continuous improvement culture.

- +5 years’ relevant experience, ideally partnering Sales teams in a fast-paced, recurring revenue, or technology-enabled business.
- Strong communicator and stakeholder manager, able to build trusted relationships while constructively challenging assumptions and driving accountability.
- Highly numerate and analytical, with strong Excel modelling skills and the ability to turn complex data into clear insight and recommendations.
- Organised, accurate, and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and continuously improve ways of working.
- People management experience, or the appetite to coach and develop others.
- Experience with sales commissions, target setting, incentive schemes, or related systems, including Salesforce, Spiff, or Clari, is a bonus.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
