Why this job matters
We've just launched a new S&C SMB Business team, supporting UK businesses with 1 to 249 employees, from sole traders to small contact centres. We're already the UK market leader for small and medium businesses, and we're aiming to get even better for our customers.
Commission is one of the biggest levers we have for driving sales performance. In this role, you'll own the end-to-end commissions operating model, making sure reward is simple, fair, transparent and commercially effective. You'll shape the future-state process, systems and governance, and deliver the timely data and insight that powers commission payments across our UK sales teams.
What you’ll be doing
- Design the future commissions model: Set out the principles, processes and data flows for how commissions will work in future.
- Improve the commissions process: Review the process from start to finish, cutting manual work, increasing automation and improving accuracy.
- Improve data quality and reporting: Make sure commissions data is accurate and complete at every stage.
- Shape the right technology: Define what we need from our commissions systems, CRM, reporting tools and data storage.
- Support system changes: Help configure, test and launch systems that are reliable and automated.
- Build in good controls: Encourage connected data, built-in checks, automatic audit trails and fewer manual fixes.
- Plan for growth: Make sure technology matches the future process and can scale as we grow.
- Decide what comes first: Prioritise benefits, fixes and improvements.
- Learn and improve: Use insights from the stabilisation period to shape future design and long-term improvements.
- Work with others: Collaborate with teams and stakeholders across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
