Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Salary: £30,158.70 per annum
About The Role

Charles Trent is looking for a Commodities Technician to join our Vehicle Dismantling team at our Poole site. This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the UK's leading vehicle recycling businesses, playing a key role in the safe and environmentally responsible processing of end of life vehicles.
You'll be responsible for depolluting vehicles, recovering valuable components and ensuring materials are processed safely and efficiently. Every day is different, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Commodities Technician, you will:
- Safely depollute end of life vehicles by draining oils, fluids and gases.
- Remove vehicle components including wheels, batteries, catalytic converters and engine ancillaries.
- Recover and process reusable vehicle parts for resale.
- Split tyres from rims and grade recovered tyres.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately.
- Carry out manual handling tasks safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow all environmental, health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with colleagues to achieve daily production targets.

About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, has a positive attitude and takes pride in doing the job properly.
Essential Skills And Experience
- A good understanding of vehicle parts and automotive components.
- A genuine interest in cars and vehicle mechanics.
- Experience of manual handling in a practical working environment.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
- Strong awareness of health and safety.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.

Desirable
- Level 1 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance or Mechanics.
- Previous experience within vehicle dismantling, automotive recycling, garage workshops or a similar mechanical environment.
