Your New Company

We are partnering with a leading manufacturing organisation to recruit a Commodity Buyer. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a specialist commodity area, managing key supplier relationships and ensuring materials are delivered to support production requirements.

Your New Role

  • Manage supplier performance, relationships, and delivery commitments.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders in line with business demand.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of materials and components.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data within SAP/ERP systems.
  • Support cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and service levels.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Production teams to meet operational objectives.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Previous experience within a Buyer, Commodity Buyer, Purchasing, or Procurement role.
  • Manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, marine, or technical industry experience.
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience using ERP systems and Excel.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, commercial awareness, and problem-solving abilities.
  • CIPS qualified or working towards qualification (desirable).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
