About the Company

My client was established in 2009 and is seen as a world-leading OEM across a number of Engineering industries.

Role Overview

As the Commodity Buyer, you are responsible for acting as a single point of accountability for their commodity, owning all commercial and supply chain activities from initial concept through to end-of-life. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to negotiate contracts, prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.

Requirements

  • Previous proven experience within a similar role
  • MCIPS or studying towards CIPS qualification
  • Experience working in an automotive/aerospace or manufacturing environment
  • Previous exposure and experience working with raw material market data, indices, and platforms
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of processes and components and supply chain management
  • Experience in supplier/customer relationship management
  • Understanding of cost drivers in a manufacturing environment and experience in leading cost reduction activities
  • Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics Navision (NAV)
