Hiring: Buildings & Construction UK Buyer

Location: Broughton – Minimum 3 days onsite (Tuesday & Thursday mandatory)
Contract: 6 Months

Our client is seeking an experienced Commodity Buyer to manage strategic procurement activities across building and construction services within a large-scale international environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for Building & Construction categories.
  • Lead national and international procurement projects and competitive tender processes.
  • Manage supplier selection, negotiations, contracts, and commercial relationships.
  • Establish and manage framework agreements with suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Identify savings opportunities through demand management, specification optimisation, and volume aggregation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and support business case, benchmarking, and make-or-buy analysis.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with established processes, contractual requirements, and governance.

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in procurement, operations, or facilities management.
  • Strong Building & Construction procurement experience.
  • Experience developing procurement strategies and managing building projects.
  • Advanced negotiation, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of building procurement contracts.
  • Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent English communication skills; additional European languages are advantageous.
