Communications SVS and Platform Strategy Lead

We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join HSBC UK as a Communications SVS and Platform Strategy Lead.
Role Overview
This role sits within the HSBC UK Communications and Public Websites team (within UK Customer). You’ll help shape and deliver the strategic transformation of HSBC UK’s communications, messaging and public website capabilities, with a clear ambition to enable hyper-personalised customer communications.
You’ll sit at the heart of change, acting as a bridge between business, technology and data teams. You’ll translate strategy into clear roadmaps and measurable delivery, while accelerating the adoption of Artificial Intelligence across communications. You’ll also play a leading role in Public Website Services transformation, ensuring our public websites evolve into high-performing digital platforms that support customer needs and commercial outcomes.
The role can be based in Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield or Chester.

Key Responsibilities
Communications Future State
- Support the definition, identification and prioritisation of future communications capabilities across HSBC UK.
- Drive alignment across UK and Group stakeholders to ensure a coherent and scalable future state for communications.
- Act as a subject matter expert and strategic adviser to support the delivery of key communications capabilities.
Communications Transformation
- Drive simplification of the current technology estate by management the demise of legacy platforms and low value comms to deliver a simpler, more agile environment.
- Ensure communications and platform strategies support wider objectives, including modernisation, digitisation, cost reduction and operational resilience.
- Influence technology investment priorities and architecture decisions across multiple value streams.

Artificial Intelligence and Communications Automation
- Support the definition and delivery of the Artificial Intelligence strategy for customer communications and content management.
- Drive adoption of Artificial Intelligence-enabled solutions to streamline content creation, review, approvals, governance and delivery processes.
- Identify opportunities to leverage Generative Artificial Intelligence, Agentic Artificial Intelligence and workflow automation to reduce costs, improve speed to market and enhance customer outcomes.
Public Website Services Transformation
- Support the definition and delivery of the transformation strategy for Public Website Services.
- Drive improvements to website platforms, content management capabilities, customer journeys, search engine optimisation, generative engine optimisation and digital conversion.
Success Metrics
- Delivery of the Communications future state strategy and roadmap.
- Increased adoption of Artificial Intelligence-enabled capabilities across communications workflows.
- Reduced operational effort, cycle times and costs associated with communications delivery and governance.
- Improved customer engagement, personalisation and communications effectiveness.
- Reduced dependence on legacy systems through migration to strategic platforms and capabilities.
Requirements
- Strategic thinking and the ability to influence at enterprise level.
- Strong understanding of marketing technology, communications technology, content management and digital experience platforms.
- Experience leading large-scale transformation and platform modernisation programmes.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, automation and emerging technologies in customer communications and digital channels.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience building investment cases and transformation strategies.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders across business and technology.
- A track record of driving simplification, innovation and measurable customer and business outcomes.
