Bank Staff | Zero Hour Contract
At YMCA South Midlands, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to belong, contribute and thrive.
We are looking for people to join our out of hours team on Bank hours to provide support to our residents when traditional services are closed. This team works in the crucial out of hours period where residents can often feel at their lowest and need support, empathy and to feel safe. We are looking for individuals who are friendly, caring, and empathetic and can use these skills to effectively manage challenging behaviours and residents who are facing crisis both physically and mentally.
You will have experience of working with vulnerable adults or young people, ideally within a supported housing environment or experience of working with young people who have experienced those leaving care environment or related field. You will be an excellent communicator with good planning and organisational skills along with an ability to motivate young people within a challenging environment. You will most importantly have people skills and empathy.
The shifts are overnight on a rota basis including week days, weekends and bank holidays. You'll be offered shifts as and when they become available.

About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Happy to work flexibly, in the evenings on a shift rota on a zero hour contract
- Compassionate, patient and emotionally resilient.
- Skilled at building trusting relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- An excellent communicator with strong listening skills.
- Organised and able to manage a varied caseload.
- Able to work independently whilst contributing positively to a supportive team.
