Role Description
The Communications and Engagement Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Ashington. This position is responsible for planning and delivering clear, consistent communications that support the organisation’s regeneration and investment activities. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Drafting press releases and news stories
- Coordinating media enquiries
- Managing content for digital and print channels
- Supporting strategic communications campaigns
- Engaging with local communities and stakeholders
- Organising or supporting events
- Monitoring communications performance to inform future activity

The Coordinator will work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure key messages are aligned, accessible, and relevant to diverse audiences.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication and Strategic Communications skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Proven writing abilities, including experience drafting Press Releases and other professional content.
- Media Relations skills, including managing enquiries, building relationships with journalists, and supporting coverage.
- Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills.
- Relevant experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field; experience in regeneration, property, or public sector environments is an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with standard office and digital communication tools; familiarity with social media and basic content management systems is beneficial.
- Education or training in communications, media, marketing, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
