£26,000 pro rata | 22.5 hours per week | Fixed-term contract, 6 months (possibility of extension)
About us
The Change Project is a specialist organisation focused on preventing domestic abuse by educating people who use abuse and promoting lasting behaviour change. Working across Essex, Norfolk, the South East of England, and East Anglia, the organisation delivers tailored domestic abuse interventions matched to individual circumstances and risk levels. Partners and ex-partners can access an Integrated Support Service to ensure victims and survivors receive consistent support throughout perpetrator programmes and are signposted to additional agencies where needed. The Change Project also delivers training to professionals and organisations working with those impacted by domestic abuse. In addition, it offers a wide range of counselling services, including child-focused counselling, play therapy, counselling for young people, family and couples counselling, psychosexual therapy, and individual therapy.
About the role
The Change Project is looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer to lead the day-to-day delivery of our communications strategy. You'll take ownership of our social media, content creation, campaign planning and analysis, working closely with managers across the charity to promote our services and raise awareness of domestic abuse prevention, education and support.
You'll also play a key role in supporting and coordinating our communications volunteers, helping them thrive and ensuring everything we publish is consistent, professional and true to who we are.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
