Brent Giving is a new and ambitious organisation in its second year, dedicated to creating a fairer, more equitable Brent for all. Communications and Fundraising Manager
- Salary: £30,400 per annum (£38,000 FTE)
- Hours: 30hrs per week (based on FTE at 37.5 hrs a week)
- Contract: Fixed term, 6 months
- Location: Hybrid, offices in Brent
- Closing date: Wednesday 7th October at 12.00 noon
- Interviews: Wednesday 14th and 15th October
Purpose of the Role
The Communications Manager will lead the development and delivery of communications and engagement activity for Brent Giving, helping to raise awareness, strengthen relationships, showcase impact, and support fundraising ambitions. The postholder will create compelling content across multiple channels and build strong engagement with residents, partners, funders, and community organisations.
Key Responsibilities
Communications Strategy and Delivery
- Develop and implement a communications strategy aligned with organisational priorities.
- Manage and coordinate communications across digital, print and outreach channels.
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand identity across all communications.

Content Creation
- Produce engaging stories that demonstrate the impact of the work Brent Giving does.
- Write blogs, case studies, newsletters and website content.
- Create content highlighting community-led philanthropy and funded projects.
- Support the promotion of participatory grantmaking activities and community events.
Digital Communications
- Lead the organisation's social media presence.
- Manage email communications and newsletters.
- Maintain and update website content.
- Coordinate the production of printed communications materials where required.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain a communications database and CRM records.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, community organisations, donors and partners.
- Support the cultivation of funders and supporters through targeted communications.
Bid Writing and Fundraising Support
- Identify and research relevant grant and funding opportunities.
- Support the preparation and submission of high-quality funding applications.
- Develop compelling cases for support and tailored donor communications.
- Work closely with senior leadership to support fundraising objectives.
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience managing organisational communications across multiple channels.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills.
- Experience producing newsletters, blogs and social media content.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Desirable
- Experience writing successful funding applications or grant bids.
- Experience within the voluntary, community or philanthropic sectors.
- Knowledge of Brent's communities and voluntary sector.
- Experience using CRM systems and email marketing platforms.
Reporting Line
This post will report to one of the Co-Directors and support the delivery of our strategic priorities: organisational sustainability, impact and growth.
