About Game Anglia & The ELEVATE Lowestoft Programme
Game Anglia is a Suffolk-based community interest company that has supported over 5,000 young people across the East of England since 2017. We connect young people with positive role models, skills, and creative opportunities within the video games industry.
Funded by the Suffolk Community Foundation, ELEVATE Lowestoft is an early-intervention and prevention programme using video game design, interactive narrative, and mentoring as creative tools to engage young people (ages 16–25+). The programme provides safe, inclusive creative outlets for young people—particularly those who may be socially isolated, neurodivergent (SEND), NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), or at risk of online exploitation and radicalisation.
Across 2026–2027, ELEVATE Lowestoft will deliver one monthly Taster Day workshop, have presence at local community festivals (e.g. First Light, Game Lowestoft), and a 5-day intensive workshop week in February 2027 at our venue partner, The Fort in Lowestoft.
The programme is designed to reach 60 individual participants, with a particular focus on young people who may be vulnerable, socially isolated, disengaged from education or employment, or otherwise less likely to access mainstream opportunities.
Purpose of the Role
Game Anglia are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and community-minded Communications & Outreach Coordinator to help us find and engage participants for ELEVATE Lowestoft. This is a hands-on outreach and community engagement role with a communications component.

Your main goal will be to connect with hard-to-reach young people in East Suffolk and the area surrounding Lowestoft and build warm relationships with local youth groups, schools, colleges, job centres, and community organizations. You will work with our Programme Manager, Administrator and Graphic Designer as well as be supported by our Directors.
Key Responsibilities
Community & Partner Outreach
- Help develop and deliver an outreach plan for ELEVATE Lowestoft.
- Build and maintain warm working relationships with key local referral partners in Lowestoft and East Suffolk, including Job Centre Plus/DWP, Inspire Suffolk, local colleges/FE settings, youth hubs, community groups, and local policing/exploitation teams.
- Conduct active, face-to-face and digital outreach to ensure at least 70% of participants recruited meet our priority target groups (e.g., NEET, SEND, socially isolated young people, or those at risk of online harms).
- If possible, attend local career fairs, community gatherings, and festival activities (such as First Light Festival or Game Lowestoft) to speak directly with potential participants, parents, and carers.
Multi-Channel Communications
- Create clear, welcoming, and accessible written communications tailored to young people and referral agencies.
- Coordinate Game Anglia’s communication channels to raise awareness of upcoming ELEVATE sessions together with our Social Media Coordinator.
- Keep programme information up to date across relevant online channels.
- Gather stories, quotes, photos and other content from programme activity where appropriate and with the necessary permissions.

Participant Recruitment & Support
- Contact potential referral partners by email, phone and in person and explain what ELEVATE offers.
- Direct initial enquiries from potential participants, parents, case workers, or referral agencies to the ELEVATE Lowestoft Programme Manager.
- Work alongside the Programme Manager to help schedule initial telephone/in-person informal chat interviews to welcome applicants and assess their needs.
- Assist in sharing updates, showcase work created by participants, and promote post-workshop opportunities (such as Game Anglia’s online Discord community and travel funds).
Person Specification (Who We Are Looking For)
Essential Skills & Qualities:
- Strong Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone when speaking to young people, parents, and referral partners.
- Digital Skills: Have experience communicating and creating materials for online communications, such as having worked with online collaboration platforms previously (e.g. SharePoint, Canva etc.).
- Community-Minded: A genuine interest in supporting young people, particularly those facing social isolation, educational barriers, or neurodivergent needs.
- Organised & Self-Motivated: Able to manage your own time flexible around key milestone dates, track sign-ups, and keep light admin records updated.
- Local Knowledge: Based in or with good knowledge of Lowestoft and East Suffolk, with the ability to travel locally for in-person outreach and events as required. Experience engaging with local services such as DWP, colleges, or community charities.
