Communications Assistant
Professional Membership Organisation
Central London
Salary: £26,000–£28,000
Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension
October start preferred
Membership Bespoke is recruiting a Communications Assistant on behalf of a respected professional membership organisation representing legal professionals.
This is an excellent opportunity for a creative communicator with outstanding writing skills to produce engaging content across websites, newsletters and social media. Working closely with the Communications Officer and wider team, you will help inform and engage members, promote events and raise awareness of the organisation’s work.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Writing and editing engaging content for the website, social media and e-newsletters.
- Creating compelling copy to promote events.
- Contributing fresh ideas at weekly editorial meetings and helping maintain the content calendar.
- Updating and maintaining website content using a content management system.
- Supporting the production of the annual report.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver accurate, timely and relevant communications.

The Ideal Candidate
Excellent writing skills are essential. You will be able to demonstrate an outstanding standard of written English, including spelling, grammar, punctuation and style, alongside the ability to tailor content to different audiences.
You will also bring:
- Previous experience in a communications or PR role.
- Experience of writing clear, accessible and engaging copy.
- Evidence of creating original content that connects with target audiences.
- Experience of updating websites using a content management system.
- A proactive, creative approach and the confidence to suggest and develop ideas.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
Experience of proofreading, creating social media assets, producing annual reports or writing event promotional copy would be advantageous.
