Communications Assistant
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Position Type: Permanent, Full Time
We are seeking a Communications Assistant to join the head office team based in Watford. Reporting to the Communications Officer/Manager, the Communications Assistant will be responsible for gathering project and business media content, including video footage, photographs, and stories, and help turn this material into articles and updates for company channels, including newsletters, live broadcasts, and social media.
The Communications Assistant will also support the effective planning and delivery of corporate functions, events, and conferences, while providing administrative support to the wider Communications Team, Office Manager, and senior management team where required.

- Assist the Communications Manager/Officer with gathering video footage, photographs, and stories from projects to feature in the company monthly newsletter.
- Write articles for external and internal company communications.
- Assist with extending the company’s presence on social media by monitoring platforms and helping to prepare regular content.
- Provide support in the effective planning, organization, and implementation of functions, events, and conferences.
- Support the planning and organization of meetings, including diary coordination, room bookings, agendas, and associated administration.
- Maintain basic communication trackers, contact lists, image libraries, and content plans.
- Proof-read and format internal communications before issue.
- Support the preparation of presentations, event materials, and communications templates.
- Ensure photographs, videos, and project stories are stored and labelled appropriately for future use.
- Liaise with project teams to gather updates, approvals, and supporting information.
- Carry out other ad hoc administrative duties as required.

Person Specification
- Formal qualification at A level or above, ideally in English and/or communications, media, marketing, or a similar subject.
- Experience gained in a communications, marketing, or administrative support role.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Canva, social media platforms, or similar digital content tools.
- Experience in writing news articles and/or company communications is advantageous.
