Support engaging communications that connect London Business School’s alumni and donor community with the impact of Advancement and the Forever Forward campaign.
The Role
London Business School is looking for a proactive and detail-focused Communications Assistant to join our Advancement team.
This is an excellent entry-level communications role supporting the ongoing delivery of Advancement communications across a wide range of channels. You will help create, refine, coordinate and publish content that engages alumni, donors and supporters, while developing your communications skills in a supportive, creative and collaborative environment.
Working within the Advancement Proposition Development and Campaign team, and reporting to the Senior Strategic Communications Manager, you will support email communications, campaign marketing, internal communications, community engagement pieces, web content, social media activity, primarily LinkedIn, and other digital platforms including MyLBS.
You will work closely with colleagues across Advancement, as well as Brand, Marketing and Communications teams, to ensure communications are well planned, on brand, accurate and aligned. This is a fantastic opportunity to build broad communications experience while contributing to the success of London Business School’s Forever Forward campaign.
Main Responsibilities
- Write, proof-read and refine Advancement content, including invitations, joining instructions, newsletters, web copy, articles and other pieces for alumni and donor audiences.
- Draft, edit and share engaging content for Advancement leadership LinkedIn profiles, the closed LinkedIn alumni group and other digital platforms.
- Ensure content is on brand, consistent in style and tone, and appropriate for the intended audience and author.
- Optimise relevant content for LinkedIn and other digital channels.
- Spot suitable unplanned communications opportunities for alumni and donor audiences on social media and help respond to them in a timely way.
- Brief the production of new collateral and creative assets for communications activity.
- Contribute to communications status and planning meetings with stakeholders across Advancement and other teams.
- Help protect the London Business School brand and tone of voice, flagging risks where needed.
- Provide administrative support to the communications team.
- Assist with schedule planning and reporting for Advancement communications.
- Work with the Alumni Communications Analyst to request data, support email communication preparation and check communications for errors or broken links before sign-off and distribution.
- Collaborate with Brand and Marketing colleagues to create assets for communications activity.
- Work closely with the School’s main social media team to support Advancement content and profile key alumni and donor events on central channels.
- Represent the communications function in team meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes where required.
- Support Advancement colleagues to build alumni engagement on social channels and other digital platforms such as MyLBS.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
