Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Transformation and Culture, the Student Communications Assistant — Web Design supports the creation and redesign of the Faculty of Education’s website and associated unit pages.
Help develop web pages that improve how users find, understand, and engage with Faculty information.
Duties
- Create and redesign pages under the Senior Advisor’s creative direction.
- Improve page layouts, navigation, and content organization.
- Assist with content migration and the development of new website sections.
- Apply Faculty and McGill visual identity and accessibility standards.
- Gather feedback from users and Faculty units to inform design choices.
- Test new and redesigned pages for usability before publication.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Experience or coursework in web design and digital content creation
- Familiarity with Drupal or McGill’s Web Management System (WMS), or willingness to learn.
- Ability to organize information into clear, visually engaging layouts.
- Understanding of visual identity and digital accessibility principles.
- Strong collaboration skills and responsiveness to feedback.
- Strong written English and attention to detail
