Markets 360 Communications Officer – Associate
We are seeking an energetic and proactive Communications professional to join the UK Communications team at a leading global financial services organisation.
This is a dedicated media role supporting Markets 360 Strategy & Economics, a division producing economic and market research for clients. The role will own the media activity for the division, raising the profile of senior economists and research across financial, business and broadcast media.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the media strategy for Markets 360, identifying proactive opportunities around research, economic developments and announcements.
- Build relationships with financial journalists and broadcast producers, including through calls, meetings and coffees.
- Proactively pitch research and senior spokespeople into TV, radio and print opportunities.
- Manage reactive journalist enquiries and coordinate responses quickly, often within 30–60 minutes.
- Coordinate media interviews, including briefing documents, diary management and logistics.
- Distribute key research and quarterly preview documents around major events such as Bank of England and ECB announcements.
- Maintain media contacts, forward planners and coverage trackers, ensuring activity is well organised and accurately reported.
- Work closely with economists, senior stakeholders and UK/Group Communications teams.
- Support digital and social activity where appropriate.

About You
- 2+ years' experience in PR, communications or media relations.
- Strong hands-on media relations experience and confidence speaking directly with journalists.
- Proven experience proactively pitching stories, research or spokespeople.
- Broadcast experience or relationships with producers would be highly valuable.
- Financial services, banking, investment or another regulated-sector background is strongly preferred.
- Able to understand complex financial or economic information and identify the media angle.
- Highly responsive, organised and comfortable managing multiple deadlines and administrative detail.
- Energetic, proactive and commercially minded — someone who will actively build relationships and create opportunities rather than wait for them.
- Agency experience is particularly welcome, especially for candidates looking to move in-house.
