Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Equal Pay Programme
About The Role
We are looking for a creative and proactive Communications Executive to support the delivery of the Clean Air programme. The role will lead the development, delivery and evaluation of high-profile campaigns that enhance the council's reputation, engage stakeholders and deliver measurable outcomes. Working closely with program leaders and communications professionals, you will create compelling content, manage multi-channel campaigns and help ensure communications activity is delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of communications and marketing campaigns aligned to programme priorities.
- Develop engaging content and key messages across digital, media and internal communication channels.
- Use audience insight, research and data to target communications effectively and measure campaign success.
- Build positive relationships with media, partners and stakeholders to maximise campaign impact and enhance the council's reputation.
- Support reputation management, media enquiries and communications responses to emerging issues and campaigns.
- Deliver digital-first communications across web, email and social media channels, ensuring best practice and innovation.

Essential Experience
- Degree-level qualification in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing, a CIPR/CIM qualification, or substantial relevant communications experience.
- Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating successful communications, marketing or engagement campaigns.
- Experience working within a large, complex organisation and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong skills in creating and delivering multi-channel communications across traditional and digital platforms.
- Experience providing communications advice to senior stakeholders and operating in politically sensitive environments.
- Excellent written communication, stakeholder engagement and campaign management skills.
