Role Purpose
As a member of the Marketing and Communications team, this role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of impactful employee communications. The role holder is responsible for supporting Senior Employee Communications Manager with delivering the UK Intelligence (UKI) Sector Employee Communications strategy that helps our employees understand their contribution to the delivery of QinetiQ's strategy and feel a sense of pride in the organisation.
The individual will support the delivery of Group and Sector employee communications campaigns and activities across a variety of channels in support of QinetiQ's company goals, the Marketing & Communications strategy and contributes positively to QinetiQ's employee value proposition and reputation with its key stakeholders, especially employees.
In addition, the individual will work closely with the Employee Communications team (part of the Marketing & Communications team) to ensure a co-ordinated approach to UK and Group employee communications taking account and consideration of other Sectors (especially UKI) and Group Functions.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the Senior Employee Communications Manager with the development and implementation of the Employee Communications strategy for the UKI Sector which informs, inspires and engages employees aligned to the Group-wide employee communications strategy and plans
- Manage Sector employee communications channels, messaging and content for key information and announcements
- Draft and edit communications copy and materials to create engaging and creative content for a variety of channels (blogs, social media, website, intranet), tailored to a range of audiences.
- Support the day-to-day tactical delivery of employee communications campaigns and activities
- Plan, manage and deliver key internal Sector events, both virtually and in-person.
- Ensure all content, messaging and collateral aligns to the QinetiQ narrative and represents the brand in the most effective way to connect our people to our purpose, vision and values
- Measure and analyse the impact and effectiveness of all communications activities to inform future plans and engagement
- Support the delivery QinetiQ Group employee communication campaigns and activities within the Sector to create awareness and understanding
- Partner with the Marketing and Communications team to leverage and integrate opportunities to promote and enhance our employer value proposition and brand both internally and externally
- Support the publishing of content across all our communications channels (both internal and external)
- Drive the timely publication of content on our internal channels, ensuring it is strategic, on brand and in line with best practice

Key Capabilities/Knowledge
- A passion for marketing and communications with a keen interest in seeking and sharing best practice and identifying new trends, to aid continuous improvement
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker with an ability to use both data and experience to make evidence-based decisions
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise when managing multiple activities and projects; comfortable delivering at pace and under pressure
- Able to build relationships, collaborate with and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- High quality written and verbal communication skills, understand the benefits of flexing appropriate channels, style and language to engage with different audiences; demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- A willingness to learn and develop
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree level educated or equivalent working experience
- 2+ years’ experience in communications, particularly within employee communications
- Demonstrable experience working in a complex stakeholder environment, with good relationship management skills
- Experience of managing external agencies, contractors, designers and content producers
- Experience of editing and updating intranet/web content and analysing web analytics
