The Opportunity
As Communications Lead, you will lead the planning, development and delivery of impactful communication initiatives across the Group Underwriting and Group Operations and Technology functions. Working within the Group Communications function, you will partner with senior leaders and international colleagues to deliver clear, consistent and engaging messaging that drives alignment and delivers results.
This varied role requires the agility to work across different business areas and communications disciplines, collaborating with external communications colleagues to manage reputational considerations where appropriate. Some flexibility may be required when working across global time zones.
Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.

Your New Role
- Act as a trusted communications adviser to senior leaders, providing practical guidance on messaging, audiences, timing, channels and potential risks.
- Offer guidance on priority initiatives and projects to achieve business outcomes.
- Develop and deliver communications plans that support business priorities, organisational change, employee engagement and leadership activity.
- Translate complex business topics into clear, accessible and engaging communications for different audiences.
- Create high-quality executive and employee communications, including talking points, presentations, Q&A materials, leader toolkits, events and videos.
- Build credible stakeholder relationships, constructively challenge where appropriate and align different perspectives around consistent messaging.
- Manage multiple priorities independently, using sound judgement to identify issues and determine when escalation is required.
- Deliver communications across digital, email, intranet, events, video, social and collaboration channels.
- Work closely with internal and external communications colleagues to manage reputational considerations and coordinate activity.
- Use data, feedback and audience insight to evaluate effectiveness and improve communications activity.
- Share effective approaches, templates and lessons learned to strengthen communications capability and consistency across the team.

About You
- Experience within corporate, internal, leadership or change communications, ideally gained within a large or complex organisation.
- Strong business-partnering skills, with experience advising senior leaders and influencing stakeholders across different functions and locations.
- Excellent written, verbal and editorial skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and create clear, audience-focused communications.
- The judgement, confidence and accountability to work independently, manage competing priorities and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong learning agility and adaptability, with the ability to quickly understand new business areas and move between strategic advice and hands-on delivery.
- Experience within insurance or financial services would be advantageous, alongside an understanding of both internal and external communications.
