Communications Manager

Location: Sutton Support Centre

Contract: 16 Months FTC - Full Time

Salary: Competitive

We're looking for a talented and proactive Communications Manager to join our Corporate Communications team at H&T.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to play a key role in delivering engaging, impactful communications that connect colleagues to our business strategy, values, and culture. You'll lead the planning and delivery of communication campaigns across the organisation, helping to enhance colleague engagement, support business change, and strengthen the employee experience.

Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across the business, you'll provide expert communications support, create compelling content, and help ensure our messaging is clear, consistent, and meaningful.

What You'll Be Doing

Strategic Communications

  • Support the development and delivery of communication plans aligned to business priorities.
  • Lead communications campaigns that support business initiatives, engagement programmes, and organisational change.
  • Ensure a consistent tone of voice and brand message across all communication channels.

Stakeholder & Leadership Support

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Partner with senior leaders to deliver clear, audience-focused communications.
  • Support leadership communications, including presentations, company updates, briefing materials, and executive messaging.

Content Creation & Channel Management

  • Create engaging content for a variety of channels including intranet, newsletters, email communications, presentations, digital signage, and engagement platforms.
  • Manage and maintain the company intranet, ensuring content remains accurate, relevant, and engaging.
  • Develop and coordinate communication calendars to support planned activity across the business.

Engagement & Culture

  • Support colleague engagement initiatives including recognition programmes, internal events, charity campaigns, wellbeing initiatives, and town halls.
  • Deliver campaigns that encourage awareness, participation, and engagement.
  • Support communications relating to ESG, ED&I, wellbeing, and business transformation programmes.

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor communication performance and engagement metrics.
  • Use insight and colleague feedback to improve communication effectiveness.
  • Recommend enhancements to communication channels, processes, and the overall colleague experience.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience in communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Ability to create engaging content across a range of communication channels.
  • Experience using digital communication platforms and intranet systems.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Creative mindset with strong problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to adapt quickly within a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience within retail, financial services, or another regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of WordPress or intranet content management systems.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and transformation programmes.
  • Experience using communication analytics and engagement reporting tools.
