This is an exciting opportunity to join Health Innovation West of England's Communications Team.

We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to manage and develop a comprehensive communications service for the organisation, focusing in particular on promoting our wide range of programmes and initiatives.

You will manage effective stakeholder communications and channels, engaging partners across industry, research and regional economic growth, as well as our network of member organisations, comprising all NHS provider and commissioner organisations in the West, and four universities.

Working closely with the Communications Team, Directors and other colleagues, and where relevant with external consultants and suppliers, you will coordinate a range of communications channels and collateral (print and digital), and media relations activity.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide specialist advice to senior managers, project teams and directors on a range of communications and stakeholder engagement issues.
  • Work closely with teams to design and deliver creative and effective communications plans and toolkits for our programmes, projects and initiatives.
  • Create and deliver innovative tools and techniques, including social media and digital communications.
  • Manage and develop the organisation's external communications channels, including the website, social media, Mailchimp newsletters, and member bulletins.
  • Research and produce a wide range of engaging written communications for various formats and tailored to the needs of different audiences, including web pages, news articles, blogs, case studies, e-newsletters, social media content, press releases and publications.

  • Provide basic in-house design support for digital graphics, reports and publications, and presentations, as well as basic video editing support for website and social media content.
  • Manage the measurement and evaluation of communication activity and channels to review impact and make ongoing improvements as required.
  • Manage the development and training of the Communications Administrator/Intern, including on-the-job training and contributing to their personal development plan and annual appraisal.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
