Communications Manager – Maternity Cover
Location: London
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, two days a week in our London office
About Us
Twenty-five years ago we opened a single showroom in Bourton-on-the-Water. That corner of rural England taught us what we still believe: that furniture should be timeless, understated, and made to be lived with. We're looking for someone to make sure more people know it.
The Role
As the Communications Manager, you'll own how we're seen, heard and talked about — across press, organic social, talent and partnerships — and you'll set the strategy that gets us there. It's a broad remit with real autonomy. You'll shape the plan, then make it happen, supported by a Social Media and Influencer Executive and our in-house creative team, and working with our PR agency.
What You'll Do
- Set the brand communications strategy, and connect it clearly to where the business is heading, whether that’s supporting showrooms or driving traffic to the website.
- Lead our organic social strategy across every social platform — the thinking, the calendar, and the content that lands.
- Social Comms Management – replying to the DM’s & comments we receive, as well as requests coming in from our customer service team.
- Develop celebrity, influencer and talent collaborations that feel genuinely ours rather than bought.
- Find partnerships that strengthen what we stand for, including our B Corp credentials and our fifteen-year guarantee.
- Measure what's working. Report on brand impact honestly, and change course when the numbers say so.
- Build and deliver the PR plan across consumer, trade and corporate, directing our agency and keeping the message consistent.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Bring
Essential
- You've led brand communications for a consumer, retail or lifestyle brand, and can point to campaigns that measurably shifted how that brand was seen.
- You know the organic social landscape properly — not just the platforms, but what earns attention on each of them right now.

- You've delivered high-profile talent and influencer collaborations from first conversation to final post.
- You generate ideas, and you're comfortable being the one who has to make them real.
- You’re an expert at capturing and editing social-first and on brand content, that would be true to the heart of the Cotswold Company brand.
