Walsall Academy
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, creative and experienced Communications Manager to join our Academy.
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to lead and develop the Academy’s communications, marketing and promotional activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the Academy’s reputation, managing digital and printed communications, and strengthening engagement with students, parents, staff and the wider community.
The suitable applicant must have experience of, or be able to demonstrate the ability to:
- Develop and deliver effective internal and external communications strategies.
- Produce high-quality written content for a variety of audiences, including website articles, newsletters, publications and press releases.
- Manage and develop social media channels and digital communications platforms.
- Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, governors and external stakeholders.
- Organise and promote Academy events, campaigns and community engagement activities.
- Work calmly under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Use a range of IT systems and digital design tools with confidence.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when producing communications materials.
- Contribute positively as part of a professional and collaborative team.

Days/Hours
- Part-time role, based on site at the academy with flexible working opportunities.
- 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
- Specific hours to be agreed.
- 46 weeks per annum
- Occasional attendance at evening events, open evenings, or Trust activities may be required.
- Travel between Trust schools may be required from time to time.
- Expenses will be paid.
Start date
- January 2027 or earlier by agreement with the successful candidate.
Salary
- Competitive and commensurate with experience. Salary is negotiable, circa £28,500.
