Communications & Marketing Manager
Develop & deliver Common Youth's communications, marketing and promotional activities to raise awareness of our services & strengthen community engagement. The role will ensure young people's voices are heard & central to meeting our strategic objectives.
As a new role within the organisation, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape our communications, strengthen our profile, develop fundraising opportunities and help influence the future direction of Common Youth.

Key Responsibilities
Communication and Marketing
- Develop a communication and marketing strategy
- Oversee the organisation’s website, digital communication and promotional materials
- Provide line management and support to the Social Media Coordinator to maximise Common Youth’s online presence and public profile
- Develop campaigns and content that promotes all Common Youth’s services
- Work collaboratively with the Education and Clinic team to promote and to improve awareness of Common Youth’s services

Fundraising
- Research and identify funding opportunities
- Prepare and submit funding applications
- Develop fundraising initiatives and support activities that generate income
- Build and maintain positive relationships with funders, partners and community
- Produce reports required by funders and Senior Management
Youth Participation
- Provide line management and support to the Youth Participation Coordinator
- Work collaboratively to ensure young people's views, experiences and feedback influence communications, campaigns and service development
- Promote opportunities for young people to participate in shaping the organisation's work
- Carry out any other duties which may reasonably be required by Common Youth

Person Specification
Essential
- Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3 years current experience working in communication, marketing or public relations
- Experience of developing creative approaches to income generation, fundraising and promotional activity
- Experience in working with young people
- Experience writing funding or grant applications
- Experience supporting or supervising staff or volunteers
- Ability to build positive relationships with all stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience managing websites and social media platforms
Desirable
- Experience working in the charity, community or health sector
- Knowledge of youth participation or co-production
- Experience managing websites and social media platforms
