Summary

As a Communications and Marketing Officer for Worcestershire, you'll be supporting the delivery of our marketing and communications plan by tailoring content to appeal to our target audiences.

Every day, the National Trust protects incredible places, but they don't stay special on their own. We are looking for a creative, people-focused Communications & Marketing Officer to bring the rich history, vibrant events, and vital conservation work of our Worcestershire properties to life.

In this role, you will be an engaging storyteller. You'll explore our remarkable properties, finding the narratives that matter and translating them into engaging digital and print content. From managing social media channels, to writing local press releases, you'll connect our audiences to nature, beauty, and history.

Shifts will typically be 9am-5pm with occasional evenings. Your working pattern will be flexible and include regular weekends.

Interview date: 29th September at Hanbury Hall

What It's Like To Work Here

Reporting to the Visitor Experience Manager, you'll be working as part of a fun and collaborative portfolio team covering sites in Worcestershire, including Croome, Hanbury Hall, Greyfriars House and Garden and The Firs.

Worcestershire and Herefordshire | Midlands | National Trust

What You'll Be Doing

  • You'll always be on the lookout for a great story, something that will capture the attention and interest of our audiences.
  • You'll be insights and audience focused, attending meetings, and working alongside colleagues to spot exciting opportunities to bring our places to life.

Working to a portfolio communications plan, you’ll translate stories into engaging content using your skills in capturing, editing, and copy writing. You’ll adapt each story to suit a variety of audiences and channels including paid media, social media, web pages, and internal and external communications. You may be asked to represent the portfolio externally, including at industry events. You’ll follow relevant image capture and storage compliance guidelines, and work within the National Trust’s brand and tone of voice guidance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
