Utility Infrastructure
Our team of Utility Infrastructure specialists design, build and maintain critical water, energy (gas), power and telecoms infrastructure, for the UK’s largest network owners and operators.
Social Infrastructure
Our team of Social Infrastructure specialists revitalise homes and communities by carrying out a wide range of work, from retrofit to refurbishment, and maintenance.

United Infrastructure is looking for a Communications Officer to join our Marketing & Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping internal communications across a growing and ambitious business while also supporting wider marketing and digital communications activity.
Working closely with teams across the organisation, particularly HR and SHEQ, you'll help bring our stories to life, celebrate our people and projects, and ensure colleagues are connected to the information that matters most.

The Role
As Communications Officer, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering engaging communications that support our people, culture and business objectives.
You'll act as a communications partner to key internal stakeholders, particularly HR and SHEQ, helping to create campaigns and communications that inform, engage and inspire colleagues across the business.

Alongside internal communications, you'll support external content creation, social media activity, digital communications and wider marketing initiatives that help raise the profile of United Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications & Business Partnering
- Plan and deliver internal communications that keep colleagues informed, engaged and connected to business priorities.
- Partner with HR and SHEQ teams to support communication campaigns, initiatives and business updates.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and provide proactive communications support.
- Translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible and engaging content.
- Support employee engagement activity and promote company culture and values.
Content & Communications
- Create compelling content for internal and external audiences, including news articles, project updates, case studies and company announcements.
- Identify and develop stories that showcase our people, projects and achievements.
- Support the creation of presentations, brochures and corporate communications materials.
- Ensure all communications align with the United Infrastructure brand and tone of voice.
Social Media & Digital Communications
- Manage and develop the company's social media presence, particularly LinkedIn.
- Create, schedule and monitor engaging social media content.
- Support the creation of photography, video and wider digital content.
- Assist with website updates and monitor audience engagement and performance.
Marketing Support
- Support marketing campaigns, events and industry activities.
- Develop marketing materials, presentations and project case studies.
- Liaise with external suppliers, including designers, photographers and other marketing partners.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that enhance the profile and reputation of United Infrastructure.
About You
We're looking for a confident and enthusiastic communications professional who enjoys collaborating with people across all levels of an organisation.
You'll be an excellent writer, a strong relationship builder, and someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality communications that make an impact.

You'll bring:
- Previous experience in a communications, marketing, PR, content or related role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience creating engaging content across a variety of channels.
- Confidence using social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- A proactive, positive and collaborative approach.
Essential Requirements
- Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Business or a related discipline.
- Experience in communications, marketing, PR, content creation or a similar field.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written communication and editing skills.
Desirable
- CIM, CIPR or other relevant professional marketing or communications qualification.
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering or a B2B environment.
- Experience supporting internal communications programmes.
- Experience working with HR, SHEQ or other business support functions.
- Photography, video creation or digital content skills.
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or content management systems.
- Knowledge of social media analytics, digital marketing or SEO.
