DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS
On behalf of Homes England, we are looking for a Communications Officer (Inside IR35) for a contract to run up until 31/3/27 which is fully remote.
Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency, plays a central role in tackling the housing challenges the country now faces. We have the appetite, influence, expertise, and resource to drive positive market change, and our mission is to ensure more homes are built in areas of greatest need, improve affordability and create a sustainable housing market.
Following the publication of the government’s Levelling Up White Paper, Homes England has also been tasked with a core role in spearheading regeneration, partnering with places to reduce economic disparity, empower local leaders and create equal opportunities across the country to ensure communities reach their full potential.
As a Communications Officer, your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop long-term comms roadmaps.
- Turn strategy into clear action.
- Simplify complex messages.
- Create engaging internal content.
- Deliver end-to-end programme communications.
- Drive behaviour and culture change.
- Align comms to programme milestones.
- Manage communication risks and issues.
- Produce stakeholder briefings and updates.
- Ensure governance and compliance standards.
- Influence senior stakeholders.
- Improve communication effectiveness.

Essential:
- SharePoint expert with strong document and content management experience.
- Develop and deliver communications strategies and roadmaps.
- Proven change communications experience within complex programmes.
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills.
- Create engaging, people-focused content across multiple channels.
- Translate complex information into simple, accessible messaging.
- Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive content design.
- Deliver end-to-end communications campaigns and activity.
- Experienced supporting high-profile and sensitive change initiatives.
- Confident influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Balance multiple priorities while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Apply governance, compliance and risk management across communications.
Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
