About the role
This is more than a communications role—it's an opportunity to shape how an organisation is seen, understood and remembered.
You'll take ownership of CLI's communications and marketing activity, leading our digital presence, campaigns, public relations and brand development. Working closely with our Data & Performance Manager and Senior Management Team, you'll have the freedom to bring fresh ideas, develop new approaches and ensure every communication reflects who we are and why our work matters.

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, thinks strategically, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to make great ideas happen.
What you'll be doing
- Developing and delivering our communications and marketing strategy.
- Creating engaging content across social media, website, email and digital platforms.
- Producing graphics, photography and short-form video content.
- Building relationships with local media, partners and stakeholders.
- Planning campaigns that increase awareness, engagement and support.
- Managing and developing the CLI website.
- Protecting and strengthening our brand identity and tone of voice.
- Using data and insight to continually improve communications.
- Supporting events, recruitment campaigns and organisational growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
