Communications Officer - Maldon District Council

Permanent, Full Time
From £37,226.71 to £42,110.54 per annum
Location: Maldon
Closing Date: 20th October 2026
Maldon District Council is working in partnership with Essex Shared Services to support the role of Communications Officer, a full-time position offering hybrid working with an expectation of attending the office 2 days per week.
Role Purpose
- Deliver clear, accurate and accessible communications that support council services, projects and priorities.
- Support engagement, campaigns, events and promotional activity across appropriate channels.
- Handle press and communications enquiries promptly and consistently, in line with council standards.
- Manage allocated communications and marketing work to agreed priorities and deadlines.
The Experience You Will Bring
- A-level, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification, or relevant experience in communications, marketing or engagement.
- Experience producing clear, accurate and engaging content for different audiences and channels.
- Experience supporting campaigns, events, promotions or customer and partner engagement.
- Working knowledge of digital communications, accessibility and data protection requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organisation and collaborative working skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and follow agreed standards and processes.
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 and digital communications platforms, with a commitment to ongoing learning.
