Communications Specialist

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to support the development and delivery of both internal and external communications across a diverse international business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating engaging content, working with senior stakeholders and helping to enhance employee engagement, brand awareness and corporate reputation.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering high-quality communications across a range of platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver communication plans that support organisational priorities and business objectives.
  • Produce a wide variety of communication materials including leadership announcements, presentations, newsletters, articles, digital content and external communications.
  • Maintain and enhance internal communication channels to ensure employees remain informed and engaged.
  • Support the management of website content and other digital communication platforms.
  • Coordinate internal meetings, business events and employee engagement initiatives across multiple business functions.
  • Work with external agencies, suppliers and media contacts where required to support communication activities.
  • Ensure all communications are consistent with corporate branding, tone of voice and messaging guidelines.
  • Provide communications support to senior leadership on key business initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of communication campaigns and recommend continuous improvements.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or another relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience within a corporate communications, internal communications or public relations role.
  • Previous experience supporting communications within a large, complex or international organisation is highly desirable.
  • Experience within engineering, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing or energy-related sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong copywriting, editing and proofreading ability.
  • Confident producing presentations and communication materials for a range of audiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using website content management systems, intranet platforms and digital communication tools is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with multicultural or international business environments would be advantageous.
