About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and creative Communications Specialist to join our team. This is a pivotal role providing design, administrative, and coordination support to the Retail Communications Manager, helping to ensure communications are delivered smoothly, efficiently, and consistently across the business.
You will play a key role in managing our communications tracker and calendar, working with stakeholders across the business, creating and proofing content, managing communication channels, and sourcing engaging stories from our retail teams.
You will also take ownership of our Opus colleague communications platform, ensuring content is engaging, accurate, and delivered in line with our communications governance and agreed timelines.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at pace, has a strong eye for detail, and can turn complex information into clear, engaging communications that make a real difference to colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the communications tracker on Monday.com, ensuring it is accurate, up to date, and effectively supports the communications calendar and content schedule.
- Create, edit, and proofread high-quality content across a range of channels, including email, intranet, newsletters, presentations, and digital platforms.
- Create and manage engaging content for Opus, our central internal platform for retail colleagues, covering campaigns, business updates, events, policies, training, and key operational messages.
- Support the Retail Communications Manager in turning complex information into simple, clear, and engaging content.
- Manage communication channels to ensure messaging is timely, accurate, relevant, and engaging.
- Source stories, updates, and content from across the retail business to help recognise and engage our colleagues.
- Support the evaluation of communications activity, using data, insights, and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure all communications align with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and corporate standards.
- Gather feedback and insights from colleagues and audiences to continuously improve our communications approach.
- Play a key role in developing and implementing a new content model for our intranet, The Hub, supporting intuitive navigation, search functionality, media management, and effective information delivery.
- Support strategic business projects by providing communications expertise and helping to develop and deliver communications plans that achieve project objectives.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers where appropriate to ensure smooth and effective delivery.
- Adapt communications and content in response to changing business needs, operational requirements, and colleague feedback.
- Support the Retail Communications Manager with ad hoc communications requests and additional projects as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
