Summary of Position
The Communications Specialist is a newly created role sitting within the People function and reporting directly to the HR Director Europe. This is a broad and varied communications role with real scope, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of internal communications across CTM's European business, as well as the day-to-day management of CTM Europe's social media presence.
CTM Europe is at an important stage of its development. We have built a new HR and people infrastructure from the ground up, and we need someone who can help us bring it to life creating content that is clear, engaging and genuinely useful for our people across the UK, France, Germany and Ireland. At the same time, you will ensure CTM Europe has a consistent, professional and active voice on social media, working closely with the Group Marketing team in Australia to stay on-brand and on-message.
This role suits a communications professional who is equally comfortable writing a leadership announcement, building a SharePoint page, scheduling a week of LinkedIn content, and translating a policy summary into plain English. Language skills in French or German would be a genuine advantage in supporting our European colleagues in their own language.
What you will do:
- Internal Communications
- Social Media
- Multilingual and Cross-Cultural Communications
- Project and Campaign Support
Education and Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in an internal communications, corporate communications or employee engagement role, ideally within a multi-site or multi-country business.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, compelling content for a range of audiences and channels from leadership announcements to employee-facing social posts.
- Hands-on experience managing professional social media accounts (particularly LinkedIn) including content planning, publishing and performance analysis.
- Experience building and maintaining intranet, SharePoint or similar digital employee communication platforms.
- Strong project management skills able to plan, prioritise and deliver multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing quality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including SharePoint, Teams, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
