Interculture CIC - Communications Specialist
Interculture CIC is a Bristol-based, disabled-led, Global Majority-focused organisation creating inclusive communities. We promote diversity, allyship, neurodiversity and disability inclusion, and seek a communications specialist to grow our reach.
What difference will you make?
- Help Interculture CIC reach more people across Bristol and beyond, particularly Global Majority communities and people interested in racial diversity, allyship, neurodiversity and disability inclusion.
- Strengthen how we communicate our projects, training, workshops, events and community impact, making it easier for people to understand what we do and get involved.
- Help us build a stronger and more consistent public profile, so that potential partners, organisations, volunteers and community members can find and connect with us.
- Increase engagement with our work and create opportunities to build new partnerships and relationships with organisations that share our values.
- Help us communicate our impact more effectively to potential supporters, funders and partners, giving them a clearer understanding of the value and reach of our work.
- Ultimately, your work will help us grow our reach, strengthen our community impact and create more opportunities to sustain and develop the work we do.

What are we looking for?

- At least 6 months’ practical experience in social media, communications, marketing, content creation or a related field.
- Confident creating engaging content for platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Good written communication skills, with the ability to turn complex ideas into clear, accessible content.
- Able to develop a simple content plan and identify opportunities to increase reach and engagement.
- Creative and able to suggest new ideas for campaigns, stories, videos and other content.
- An understanding of racial and cultural diversity, Global Majority experiences, allyship, neurodiversity and disability inclusion.
- Sensitive to how communities and lived experiences are represented, and committed to authentic, respectful and non-tokenistic communication.
- Able to work independently while collaborating with the Interculture CIC team.
- Experience with tools such as Canva, Meta Business Suite or basic analytics would be useful, but is not essential.
What will you be doing?
- Develop a practical social media and communications approach to increase awareness of Interculture CIC and our work across Bristol and beyond.
- Review our current social media presence and identify opportunities to improve content, consistency, reach and engagement.
- Create and/or advise on engaging content that communicates our work around racial and cultural diversity, Global Majority experiences, allyship, neurodiversity, disability inclusion and belonging.
- Help us tell the story of our training, workshops, community projects, events and partnerships, making our work accessible and relevant to different audiences.
- Develop a simple content plan and communications calendar, including ideas for campaigns, awareness days, community stories and educational content.
- Help us reach the right audiences, including Global Majority communities, community organisations, employers, educators, funders, partners, volunteers and people interested in inclusion and allyship.
- Advise on how we can better use platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn and other relevant channels, depending on where our audiences are.
- Help establish a consistent voice and visual approach for Interculture CIC that reflects our values and avoids tokenistic or performative communication.
- Where appropriate, support the development of short-form video, graphics, campaigns and other digital content that can increase our visibility.
- Work collaboratively with the Interculture CIC team to turn our existing knowledge, activities and community work into clear, engaging communications that reach more people.
