About London Transport Museum (LTM)
Based in Covent Garden and Acton Town, we are the world’s leading museum of urban transport and an award-winning day out. But that’s just part of our story. We are passionate. We are curious. We are adventurous.
As a heritage and education charity, we reach every primary school in the capital to fire the imaginations of tomorrow’s engineers, designers, scientists, and arts enthusiasts. With business partners and industry decision-makers, we tackle the topics that matter to London, from smart cities to green innovation.
We want to close skills gaps, redress gender imbalances and create opportunities for under-represented and disadvantaged communities.
We want to ignite curiosity to shape the future.
At LTM we welcome children, young people and adults at risk as Museum visitors and through engagement projects. We take safeguarding our visitors seriously and ensure all our staff and volunteers are DBS checked, regularly trained, and feel confident following our thorough safeguarding procedures. At LTM, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
Overview of role
This role manages the Acton Communities programme within Communities and Participation, which encompasses a range of activities, projects and work placements aimed to support communities local to our Depot site to feel ownership and pride in the Museum Depot and their community. These activities enable local communities to shape projects, displays, and research to be shared with visitors and to enhance LTM's understanding of its signs collection.
Part of a NLHF-funded project focused on the Museum Depot's sign collection, this role will manage the development and delivery of short creative engagement courses, paid placements, community curated displays and the co-production of object labels and an audio guide. This role develops and maintains external partnerships with key local partners as well as works closely with participants.
Manager roles in Communities and Participation develop and manage the delivery of programmes, projects and engagement activities focused on sector-leading informal learning and engagement, skills-based training and creative co-produced projects. These activities are linked by their commitment to participatory practice, with delivery through responsive participant and community-led models and a focus on strong, long term partnership working with youth and community organisations.
The role models, advocates for, and supports others at LTM to develop participatory practice through responsive partnerships.
These activities deliver social impact for participants, foster more inclusive organisational and sector change and enhance the value and relevance of LTM to existing and new audiences.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
