About Maze Theory:
Maze Theory is a leading game development studio renowned for creating immersive, narrative-driven games. We are home to iconic franchises such as Doctor Who and Peaky Blinders, as well as the creators of the critically acclaimed mixed reality game ‘Infinite Inside’. As we expand our portfolio, we are seeking a Community & Marketing Manager to lead community engagement and marketing efforts across our range of titles, which include both self-published and third-party published games.
Job Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and driven Community & Marketing Manager to join Maze Theory’s marketing department in a role that balances 30% community management with 70% games marketing. You will be instrumental in growing and engaging our gaming community, as well as supporting the marketing initiatives for both self-published and third-party titles. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work with iconic brands such as Doctor Who and Peaky Blinders, alongside our critically acclaimed mixed reality game ‘Infinite Inside’ and future projects.
As the voice of the brand, you will build meaningful relationships with players, manage social channels, and lead marketing campaigns for our back catalogue. You’ll also ensure that player feedback is gathered and used to stay connected with the community, playing a pivotal role in fostering a thriving and engaged audience.
Community Engagement & Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to grow, nurture, and engage our gaming community across platforms such as Discord, forums, Reddit, and social media.
- Actively participate in discussions, responding to player inquiries and feedback in a timely, professional manner.
- Reply and maintain review scores across headset platforms.
- Organise and host community events, including AMAs, livestreams, contests, and in-game activities.
- Create engaging LinkedIn posts and grow our industry leadership.
- Create news/blog posts across platform stores to drive awareness and conversion of apps.

Content Creation & Social Media:
- Create engaging, on-brand content for social media platforms, community channels, and newsletters.
- Work with the development teams to ensure consistent messaging across communications.
- Produce weekly community reports detailing trends, player sentiment, and engagement metrics.
- Design marketing graphics to enhance social media content using Photoshop/Illustrator/In-design.
Marketing Delivery:
- Execute marketing strategies for both self-published and third-party published games.
- Collaborate with the development teams to design and promote campaigns that align with game releases, updates, and seasonal events.
- Contribute to game product lifecycles, including pre-launch, launch, and post-launch marketing activities.
- Manage the annual promotional calendar for our games, ensuring the back catalogue receives consistent, strategic marketing support.
- Collaborate with external partners, including influencers and media outlets, to promote games to target audiences.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform strategic marketing initiatives.
- A/B test Meta Data and Key Art across headset platforms to increase sale conversions.
- Create Key Art variations with internal assets.
- Update and maintain Maze Theory Website.
- Setting up store pages.
Community Moderation, Feedback Gathering & Crisis Management:
- Monitor community spaces to ensure a positive, safe, and inclusive environment, addressing disruptive behaviour and enforcing moderation policies as needed.
- Actively gather player feedback on game features, updates, and issues, compiling reports to provide actionable insights to internal teams and shape future game updates.
- Handle challenging situations such as game outages, bugs, or player dissatisfaction with empathy and transparency, collaborating with the PR and customer support teams to manage sensitive issues and respond to crises in real-time.
- Maintain and develop bug testing program in Discord.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in community management, particularly within the gaming industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for video games and an understanding of gaming culture.
- Proficient in social media management across platforms such as Twitter, Discord, Reddit, and Twitch.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with content creation (copywriting, social posts, and basic video editing).
- Familiarity with analytics tools to measure community growth and engagement (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights).
- Proficient in graphic design.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of popular gaming platforms and trends, especially within esports or live-service games.
