The bit about us

x+why launched in 2019 with a simple belief: business should be a force for good. We’re proud to be a Certified B Corp, creating hospitality-led spaces that put people and planet alongside profit.

Today we operate 17 coworking, event and members’ club spaces across London, Birmingham, Manchester and Milton Keynes, supporting a vibrant community of 5,000+ members – with more launches on the horizon!

The bit about the role

Full transparency, this probably isn’t the job for you if…

  • you want to sit behind a desk all day.
  • you prefer every day to look the same.
  • you would rather not engage with people.

As Community Associate, you’ll be right at the heart of Foundry site at Brindley Place - welcoming members and guests, keeping an eye on what’s happening around the space and helping make sure people have a great experience every time they walk through the door.

You’ll spend time on the main reception, but this is definitely not a traditional reception role. One minute you're helping a new member settle in, the next you’re booking a meeting room, answering an enquiry, spotting something that needs fixing or helping the wider team with whatever the day throws at you.

Events will be a focus for this role. Foundry hosts everything from smaller member and community gatherings to panel events, workshops and occasional larger events for up to 150 guests.

Once an event is booked, you’ll take the reins from the Event Sales Team and be the main point of contact for the client - making sure everything comes together exactly as it should. You’ll manage the event calendar, coordinate room layouts, catering, drinks and suppliers, while working closely with the wider building teams to make sure everyone knows the plan.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

On the day, you’ll be on hand to set up the event, welcome guests and be the go-to person for the client throughout. You’ll keep things running smoothly, deal with any last-minute curveballs and make sure everything is wrapped up properly afterwards.

Most events take place within normal working hours, although you can expect there to be a later evening event approx. once a month.

The space

Based in Brindley Place - one of the city’s most established business and leisure destinations, surrounded by canals, restaurants, bars and some of Birmingham’s best-known cultural spots.

Inside, Foundry is everything you’d expect from x+why: beautifully designed, full of character and created to bring people together. There’s a mix of private offices, coworking areas, meeting rooms and shared spaces, alongside plenty of places for members to meet, connect and step away from their desks.

The bit about you

You’re naturally warm, friendly and everyone you meet tends to walk away a little bit happier. You understand what great service looks like, but you don’t need a script to deliver it. You notice when someone looks a little lost, remember names and are usually the person who spots what needs doing before somebody has to ask.

You’ll be organised and practical, and will relish the opportunity to roam between reception, workspace and events, without needing every part of your day mapped out in advance.

Previous experience in hospitality, coworking, or events is preferred but not essential. Just as important to us is your attitude - you’re curious, proactive, happy to roll your sleeves up and care about how people feel when they’re in our space whether they are a member or a guest.

Why x+why?

We want you to enjoy coming to work every day. Even on Mondays.

To make sure of this we will provide you with a phenomenal environment - think inspiring design, cutting edge tech, stunning views, great coffee, and lots and lots of plants!

Plus, you’ll be part of our incredibly supportive, collaborative team, who although take their members’ experience very seriously, also want to have a little fun along the way.
