Community Hub Coordinator
Could a cup of tea, a warm welcome, and a shared moment of connection help bring a whole community closer together? Lift Barton Hill is looking for a Community Hub Coordinator to work 7.5hrs a week to help us create a space where families, children, and neighbours can connect, belong, and thrive.
At Lift Barton Hill, we believe every child deserves an excellent education, every day. Our community cafe at St Martins Church is more than just a place to grab a coffee – it's where relationships grow, support is offered, and families feel truly welcomed. Funded by the National Lottery, this new role helps us build on the strong ties between our school, families, and the wider community.
We're creating a hub where people can borrow books, access clothing donations, attend skill-building workshops, and find early help when they need it most. This role sits at the heart of that vision.
About The Role
You'll look after the day-to-day running of the cafe, making sure it's a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for everyone. You'll work closely with families, school colleagues, volunteers, and local services to help the cafe become a trusted part of community life. Something about organising a calendar of events where outside agencies run workshops/support groups alongside the cafe.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
