Community Care Assistant – At Home Instead (Dumbarton & Surrounding Areas)

Location Requirements

This role is based in or around:

  • Dumbarton
  • Balloch
  • Helensburgh
  • Clydebank
  • Old Kilpatrick

Role Overview

As a Community Care Assistant, you’ll support older adults in maintaining independence through companionship, encouragement, and practical assistance. We match our Care Assistants with clients based on personality, interests, and compatibility, fostering trusted, long-term relationships.

Hours & Flexibility

  • Built through client matching (tiered scheduling over time)
  • Zero-hours contract—no guaranteed minimum hours, but opportunities for steady growth as clients are assigned
  • Evenings and alternate weekends may occasionally be required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide meaningful companionship and social interaction
  • Support clients with everyday household tasks
  • Assist with errands, appointments, or outings (e.g., shopping, social gatherings)
  • Help with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
  • Promote independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing
  • Develop consistent, longer-term client relationships through regular, one-hour visits
