Job Description
We are currently looking for compassionate and committed Community Care Assistants based in or near: Dumbarton, Balloch, Helensburgh, Clydebank, or Old Kilpatrick.

About the Role
At Home Instead, we carefully match care assistants with clients based on personality, interests, and compatibility to foster meaningful relationships. Your responsibilities will include:
Flexible scheduling – Hours are arranged through recurring client matches. Upon assignment, visits typically occur weekly, allowing you to build a regular schedule with opportunities to grow over time.
This is a zero-hours contract, meaning initial commitments are flexible based on available client matches until you develop a steady routine.
Key Responsibilities
As a Community Care Assistant, you’ll facilitate dignity, independence, and social connection for older adults while supporting practical needs. Duties may include:
- Providing meaningful companionship and social interaction
- Assisting with everyday household tasks (e.g., light cleaning, meal prep)
- Escorting clients to appointments, social activities, or shopping
- Supporting basic personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming) as needed
- Encouraging wellbeing, confidence, and autonomy

⚠ Flexibility required – Evening and alternate weekend shifts may be needed.
Requirements
- No prior qualifications or experience required – All training provided
- Essential traits:
- Compassionate approach to care
- Reliable communicator and team player
- Passion for supporting older adults in their local community
- Passion for person-centred/client-focused care – we value connection over routine
Note: Successful candidates will undergo ** cautioning checks (PVG Scheme)**, with associated costs refunded after 3 months of employment.
