Who We Are
Established in 1986, City in the Community is Manchester City’s official charity. We support people across Manchester by empowering healthier lives through football. Our programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.
Across our Education and Community programmes, we use sport, education and positive engagement to support people of different ages, backgrounds and abilities. From schools and education settings to community-based programmes, our teams work across Greater Manchester to create inclusive experiences that help participants develop, achieve and thrive.
The Role
You will provide flexible delivery support across a range of City in the Community programmes, helping to maintain high-quality provision during periods of staff absence or increased delivery demand.
Day to day, you could be delivering across programmes including Early Years, Primary Stars, Inspires, BTEC and Outreach. You will work closely with programme Officers to plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and safe sessions that meet the needs of different participants and programme objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
