I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
You don't need to have a formal qualification in dementia care to succeed in this role. We are looking for someone who is warm, empathetic, organised and genuinely interested in people and their communities.
You will have experience of working in a community setting and experience of working with, or volunteering alongside, volunteers. You will understand the needs and challenges faced by people living with dementia and their families and be able to build trusting relationships with a wide range of people.
You will also be confident working independently, using your initiative and managing your own area of responsibility, while enjoying working collaboratively as part of a wider team.
A qualification or equivalent experience in dementia or health and social care, experience of working with older people, or knowledge of the Jewish community would be advantageous, but what matters most is your attitude, compassion and commitment to making a positive difference.
