Organisation Context

Edberts House is a vibrant community organisation based in East Gateshead. We manage two main strands of work, Community Development and Community Linking Project (Social Prescribing). Our community development team is embedded in statistically complex local communities, building the capacity of local people across Gateshead through the provision of courses, person-centred support, community events and activities. Our work across the GP surgeries allows us to provide bespoke and holistic support for individuals, children and families, acknowledging the challenges of everyday life in our communities.

Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity to join our place-based Community Development team. The postholder will manage a varied timetable of activities, educational sessions and trips, regular community engagement opportunities, and consistent networking and signposting to other agencies and services, while overseeing a large community building.

They will actively develop our Gateshead Family Hubs offer through groups and activities for parents, carers and children to engage in, such as parent/carer toddler groups, messy play, education & training sessions, topical support groups and drop-ins, community events etc. promoting health for the whole family.

Work closely with co-located Social Prescribers and other inter-agency partners to improve connections to the local community, ensuring community involvement is at the heart of all programme activity. Also, the postholder will need to liaise with stakeholders and funders, providing evaluation and monitoring information on a regular and timely basis.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
